Burn Permit


ATTENTION:   Before requesting a burning permit please confirm you are resident of Richland Township, Richland, Michigan, Kalamazoo County.    There are several Richland Townships in Michigan, and several out of state.   Requests for permits outside of our jurisdiction will not be issued.   
 
Local residents only — Please fill out the information below to apply for a burn permit.
 
ALL FIRES MUST BE ATTENDED BY A COMPETENT ADULT AT ALL TIMES UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY EXTINGUISHED. A GARDEN HOSE AND WATER SUPPLY OR OTHER FIRE EXTINGUISHING EQUIPMENT MUST BE ON HAND WHILE BURNING. AT NO TIME WILL THE FIRE BE LEFT BURNING OR SMOLDERING UNATTENDED
 
Under the provisions of Section 4, Act 329 P.A. 1969, permission is hereby granted this application to burn the described address providing there is 2 acres of property and period specified below. PERMITS ARE NOT VALID FOR MORE THAN FOUR (4) CONSECUTIVE DAYS.
 
Please note that no fire shall be set after expiration of this permit, and no fire shall be set at a time when high wind is blowing. An adequate fire line shall be made around the area to be burned and a force of persons, sufficient to control the fire, shall be on hand at the time of burning. Permittee shall be liable for all damage to property which may result from burning done under this permit. Any questions please call your township office at 269-629-4921.
