Due to COVID-19, we are requesting a few changes for making your Winter tax payments. Our office is   open by appointment only to help keep our staff healthy.

If you need a receipt, please enclose a stamped, addressed envelope.  You can also get a receipt from the website after we have posted your payment.    www.richlandtwp.net   Services or Quick links Tab: Tax and Assessing tab and enter your parcel/address and view your payment. 

If paying in Cash, put the exact amount in an envelope with name and parcel # and place in our drop box.

December 1, dog licenses will be available for purchase online @  www.kalcounty.com/AC/. If necessary, licenses can be purchased at the Township with check or exact cash and necessary updated forms from your veterinarian.

Richland Township is following the recommendation from the State of Michigan and the County of Kalamazoo in preventing the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to protect the public health of residents.

At this time Richland Township Offices will be open by appointment only. The Township will still operate via phone, email and US Postal Mail. We encourage all residents to do business through this communication. We also encourage our residents to use our website for information and updates.

The Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department wants residents and healthcare providers to be aware of an increasing number of confirmed and probable Lyme disease cases in Kalamazoo County. Currently, Lyme disease cases are five times higher than they were five years ago.

Kalamazoo, MI – One symptomatic employee who works for the Grifols BioMat USA, has tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The health department advises people who were at the plasma center located at 167 E. Kalamazoo Avenue on the following dates June 27, 28, and 29, and July 3, 6, 8, and 9 to monitor themselves daily for symptoms of the respiratory disease and seek testing from their healthcare provider.

Older Adults Get Access to the USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program

Kalamazoo, MI – Kalamazoo County Health & Community Services Department’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) IIIA has joined forces with Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes to streamline distribution of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farmers to Families Food Box Program. On May 8, the USDA approved contracts across the country for the program, which allows local farmers and suppliers to coordinate boxes of fruits, vegetables, and dairy with food banks and Area Agency on Aging across the state. AAA IIIA will receive the first delivery this week.

Attached is a map showing the City's revised 2020 Water System Flushing Schedule, which will begin on June 14, 2020 and continue through June 23, 2020.  Flushing will take place during evening hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. and daytime hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-94 Expansion in Kalamazoo

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin construction on Monday, May 18, to prepare a 2.8-mile section of I-94 between Lovers Lane and Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo to be widened from two lanes to three lanes in each direction.
