Road Commission updates on Speed Studies within Township

Updates on Speed Studies

RCKC would like to take this opportunity to give you an update on several of the ongoing speed studies for Richland Township. Below, please find a listing of the open speed studies for your township and where the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (RCKC) and the Michigan State Police (MSP) are at with the studies:

F Avenue (Sprinkle Road to 28th Street) – Approved by MSP and RCKC for a 45 mph speed limit. Signs to be installed in December 2019 or January 2020.

DE Avenue (35th Street to Township Line) - MSP needs to review the speed data collected by RCKC.

35th Street (D Avenue to Gull Lake Drive) – RCKC is collecting data weather dependent.

It is important to note that many speed studies are being effected by recent staff transitions at MSP.  Due to these MSP staffing transitions, they have indicated all work on speed studies will be temporarily suspended until 2020.

We realize that this process may be taking longer than desired and appreciate your patience.    Questions should be directed to the Road Commission of Kalmaazoo County 381-3170.
