The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) continues field work for the Remedial Investigation in Richland with the installation of monitoring wells. MDEQ has expanded the Remedial Investigation study area to include DE Ave starting at 35th St and expanding a mile east. Monitor wells are currently being installed along this area. To date 18 of the residential wells along DE Ave have been sampled and are awaiting results. Out of an abundance of caution all residents in the expanded study area have been offered PFAS filters and to date 18 filters have been distributed. Drilling and sampling will be postponed during the holidays and will resume January 7.
