Spring Cleanup Minimize

Spring Cleanup is coming soon.


On April 21, raindate April 23, some of the Gateway students from Gull Lake High School along with your Township Administrators will be cleaning up the cemetery.  Do not put out your spring items until after April 23.

Saturday, April 26, is the Annual Junk Drop-off day at the Richland Township office parking lot from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  There will be a container for recyclable  metal, another container for recyclable cardboard and paper, and  trash trucks for your "Junk".

There will also be a shredding truck for your sensitive documents that you do not want to throw in recycle.  Only office paper will shred. Two trucks will be available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Township landfill will be open the 26th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. for dropping off brush, limbs, and leaves.  If the leaves are in bags, they need to be emptied at the landfill.

There will also be an E-cycle  for computers, and other small electronics , no TV's or smoke detectors at the Gracespring Church from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. to benefit the Richland Relay for Life.

Also at the Gracespring Church from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, there will be a paint recycling drive to benefit the local Rugby club.( $2 donation per can)

Richland Township Profile

Welcome to Richland Township.

  •  We are located in southwest Michigan in Kalamazoo County, eleven miles northeast of the city of Kalamazoo and fifteen miles northwest of Battle Creek. There are four other Richland Townships located throughout Michigan. 
  •  We are a quaint community of approximately 7,800 people. 
  •  The Township encompasses 34.75 square miles of land  that is rich in nutrients and lends itself  to produce high quality farming (hence the name Richland).
  • There are 1.7 square miles of beautiful waterlands. The lakes are Miller Lake, Oatman Lake, Three Lakes, Grass Lake, Grassy Lake, Little Long Lake and Gull Lake.
